Performance Marketing Association Sues State of Illinois

If you’ve been following the blog over the last few weeks you’ve probably noticed an entry here or there regarding the affiliate nexus tax legislation that has been floating around in states across the country.

In April the passage of an affiliate nexus tax in Illinois caused Amazon and other merchants to stop doing business with companies located in Illinois, forcing us to close our Illinois office.  Nine-thousand other affiliates in the state were similarly impacted.  In response to the passage of the tax, the Performance Marketing Association has taken action and filed suit against the state of Illinois fighting the constitutionality of the law.

We will keep you posted on how their efforts progress, but in the meantime we encourage you to check out the press release for more details on the appeal and for information on ways you can ensure similar legislation is not passed in your state.
