In this week’s Trends & Insights we’re taking a look at the link text that gets the most clicks from users across our network. The link text should always be clear, communicate value, and convey urgency. When we evaluated link text in January, post-holiday shopping season, we noticed two main trends. First, people will respond when they are told to do something actionable, and secondly, readers like to know where a link is going to take them. The data from this month proves that this is a reoccurring trend as we see commands such as “view registry” and “click here” along with destinations such as “amazon”, “urbanoutffiters.com” and “app store”. When creating links in your content be sure to make them actionable and give the reader an idea of where you are sending them!
