We are thrilled to announce the closing of a $5.4 million Series B financing round led by Emergence Capital. Our existing investors Google Ventures and First Round Capital also participated in the round and increased their stake. We have raised a total of $7.3 million to date. Kevin Spain from Emergence Capital, has joined the board.
The company launched a year ago with the idea that clicks leaving your site – “outclicks” – have value. For the most part those outclicks are not even metered. A typical analytics package will tell you which page someone was on when they left your site, but not where they went. VigLink not only tells you where those clicks went, but measures how much value they drove downstream and claims a fair commission without creating any work for the publisher.
What this funding really means is that we can accelerate our hiring and product efforts to do an even better job helping publishers to value the outclick and enabling them to concentrate on what they do best – creating great content.
We’ve also made a bunch of new friends in the last few months and we’re excited to have a bunch of new members of our advisory team: Jeff Clavier – founder and managing partner of VigLink investor SoftTech VC, Auren Hoffman – CEO of RapLeaf, Kristopher Jones – founder and former CEO of Pepperjam, and Stuart Larkins – a former DoubleClick / Performics executive.
