Lisa Picarille of the Performance Marketing Association posted a great article on the organization’s blog this morning that is worth a read. As you may know, California is in the midst of considering rolling out an affiliate nexus tax in the state. The law is an attempt to collect additional sales tax from online retailers, but when similar laws have been passed other states the results have been devastating: no new sales tax and lots of lost jobs.
Can California — a state whose economic recovery is being fueled by the technology sector — afford to banish technology jobs from the state? Picarille thinks not (and we would agree).
