To put this in perspective, last year Alibaba generated over $9 billion in sales in 24 hours – more than the combined value of the United States’ Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The AliExpress Shopping Festival is revolutionizing e-commerce globally. The enormity of the event transforms Alibaba from a Chinese phenomenon to a global player.
The sale, which started a few hours ago, exceeded $5 billion in sales within the first 90 minutes of being live.
